2 days before the conference Vice President Mike Pence’s office called and requested a small and private special meeting of leaders. I was both honored and proud to be invited to join the conversation. If we don’t have a seat at the table then how can we move forward?!
The Frederick Douglass Foundation also gifted VP Pence a minted quarter with founding father George Washington on one side and beloved abolitionist Frederick Douglass on the other side. Dean Nelson, he shared a story with me, expressed his gratitude for the coin and said he was taking it to place in his office at the White House.
